Nomura Appoints Chief Risk Officer
Tokyo, November 26, 2008 – Nomura Holdings, Inc. today announced the appointment of David Benson as Chief Risk Officer and Senior Managing Director.
In his new role, Mr.
Benson will be responsible for managing the risk profile of Nomura globally; working closely with the business heads and regional management to ensure that Nomura's risk model is complementary to the business strategy, while safeguarding the company's strong balance sheet.
"Our measured approach to risk has enabled us to avoid the worst traps of the turbulent markets and focus on the opportunities that have arisen.
